del verbo to work:
Forma afirmativa
Estructura: sujeto + was/were + «forma en -ing» del verbo que se conjuga.
Nota. La forma afirmativa del past continuous no tiene contracción.
Forma negativa
Estructura: sujeto + was/were + not+ «forma en -ing» del verbo que se conjuga.
Sin contraer Forma contraída
I was not working
yo no estaba trabajando you were not working I wasn’t working
you weren’t working
he/she/it was not working he/she/it wasn’t working
etc. etc.
Forma interrogativa
Estructura: was/were + sujeto + «forma en -ing» del verbo que se conjuga.
Forma interrogativo-negativa
Estructura: was/were + sujeto + not + «forma en -ing» del verbo que se conjuga.
Sin contraer Forma contraída
was I not working?
¿no estaba yo trabajando? were you not working? wasn’t I working?
weren’t you working?
was he/she/it not working? wasn’t he working?
etc. etc.
